TechNet Indo-Pacific Features Secure Comms at the Edge
Empowering DoD Missions with Rugged, Portable Technology
CIS Secure attended and exhibited at AFCEA TechNet Indo-Pacific at the Hawaii Convention Center in Honolulu and the experience was as warm and inviting as the location. TechNet brings together leaders in defense, technology and innovation from around the world. This year’s theme was “Sword & Shield: Ensuring a Secure, Free and Prosperous Indo-Pacific” and attendees were reminded to use good OPSEC practices when networking and accessing technology.
As usual, CIS Secure responded with tactical readiness, unveiling a new booth concept. Our booth simulated a military tent in the field with camo netting used throughout, staff dressed in khaki tees and tactical pants, and CIS Secure comms built for remote missions, secure intelligence and edge AI. It was an eye-catching display that many in the crowd would find familiar.

Devices that got people talking
Show attendees had a couple of big topics on their minds. AI was a leading topic in the room with multiple sessions focused on that. And another big focus was how to enable secure communications at the edge. CIS Secure addressed both topics in our booth experience.
The two devices (plus one at a partner’s booth) that attracted the most interest and questions were rugged, portable products that operate in regions where secure communications are either unavailable or non-existent. CIS Secure products are built by and for the DoD and IC communities, including these devices featured at the conference:
- Portable High Density Server Kit. This robust tactical kit brings compute capabilities to the edge with a 16 core Intel server that is capable of bringing wired WAN, WiFi WAN or 5G cellular backhaul to the front lines of any DoD or IC mission. For mission-specific computing, this powerful server fits in a man-portable case for grab-and-go secure comms in any situation.
- Portable Wireless Travel Kit. This kit enables secure wireless communications, especially when WiFi or other secure lines are down. It’s an essential tool for enabling full, private communications and S-band radio access, all in a rugged, small form case.
- altOS. altOS is an Android based secure operating system that is designed to provide optimal mobile device management and protection for mission-critical operations. We did not feature it in detail at our own booth, but our business partner, Zebra, did in their booth.
Future plans for TechNet Indo-Pacific
CIS Secure plans to return to TechNet Indo-Pacific in 2026. If you can’t wait that long to visit our “tent” and try out our secure comms, check out our upcoming events page to see where we’ll be next or reach out to our team to schedule a call to learn more.
